Yes. Pogo Energy does not run a credit check for its prepaid electricity service, so bad credit or a limited credit history does not create a credit-check barrier to enrollment. You still need an eligible service address and an initial funded balance.

Oncor Electric Delivery is the transmission and distribution utility, or TDU, serving Waco's competitive electricity market. Pogo Energy handles your electricity plan, account, payments, and customer support. Oncor maintains the local poles, wires, and meters and restores service after outages. When you choose Pogo at an Oncor-served address, Oncor continues delivering your electricity. Retail provider choice depends on your exact address, so check availability even if your mailing address says Waco.

Can I choose Pogo for an apartment near Baylor University?

You can choose Pogo for an eligible apartment near Baylor if your lease requires you to arrange your own electricity and the address allows retail provider choice. Ask the leasing office whether electricity is included and what proof of service it needs before move-in. Include your unit number when checking availability.

How do I switch electric companies at my current Waco address?

Check your address with Pogo, review the plan details, and select a switch date during enrollment. Before choosing the date, review your current provider's agreement for any remaining obligations or early termination fees. If the address has a switch hold, it must be resolved before the switch can proceed.

Does Pogo require a long-term electricity contract?

Pogo's prepaid electricity service does not require a long-term contract. You still agree to the plan's service terms and remain responsible for any outstanding balance. If you have a Deferred Payment Plan, its switch hold must be removed before you can change providers.
